MGMT's 'Flash Delirium' is our 'Track of the Week' for this week, over four years since its release for free on the Connecticut duos website.
'Flash Delirium' is four minutes and 23 seconds of sound contrasting, scene changing and powerfully pyschedelic beauty, opening with lead singer Andrew VanWyngarden singing softly lyrics only the deranged duo can understand.
The track from MGMT's second studio album then begins to pick up in tempo, exploding into musical madness that without doubt will make you roar out words you've never even heard before or in a sequence that once again only VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser could make sense of. If there's only one thing that we can take from 'Flash Delirium', it has to be that its an absolutely outstanding piece of music, a track of which matures within, from a soft giant to a powerful monster, roaring out in chaos and creating musical drama like no other.
'Flash Delirium' deserves a lot more plaudits than its earned, the same could also be said about the duo who created the masterpiece too.
