Our 'Track of the Week' for this week is the return of Noel Gallagher and his High Flying Birds with their new release, 'In The Heat Of The Moment'. Officially released on the 17th November, the track is one of a real Gallagher style, brutal Britpop with a melodic rythmn.
"Na na na, na na na" soundtracks Noel Gallaghers attempt an anthem for his forthcoming UK tour.
As the controversial Manc and Gogglebox star incorporates the Oasis style chuggering bass with a church bell choir and tension building drumbeat before 'In The Heat Of The Moment' explodes into a Britpop beauty, releasing all of Noels locked away treasures from the three year period since his debut solo album back in 2011. With Liam splitting from his band, Beady Eye, talk has been strife of an Oasis re-formation and when we interviewed the founding member of the much loved and much missed kings of Britpop, Paul Arthurs, A.K.A Bonehead, last week, he didn't utter much on the situation despite Michael Eavis' claims of contact between the Gallagher brothers about the Pyramid in June of next year.
But, will Noel really be caring much right now? We can't imagine so, with his second studio album to be released in the forseeable future as well as a sellout UK tour coming up and the releasing of tracks at the magnitude of 'In The Heat Of The Moment', he seems to be doing quite alright on his own at the moment.
RIFFED's Rating: 9/10.
