Introducing... Pylo

We chatted to Bath and Bristol bred band Pylo this week. The slight pyschedelic more powerfully madjestic five-piece have already become a hit with many after recently performing at the much famed Maida Vale studios and with their debut album on its way, we felt the time was right to get in touch with the band in question.

1. Who are Pylo?

We are all from the southwest and met around 5 or 6 years ago, we all came from musical and creative backgrounds so inevitably start making music together.

2. Who are your biggest musical inspirations?

I think the important thing to us is how genuine something is. Musically we all have varied backgrounds, I grew up listening to The Police, Phil Collins and Michael Jackson whilst some of the other guys were growing up with a lot of Jazz along with acts like Queen and Pink Floyd.

3. How would you describe yourselves and your sound?

I'm not sure how I would describe us, we are all very different personalities and that seems to work for us quite well. Our sound is something that has come naturally, we just give each other space to work out our own musical processes and then bring those together and I think you end up being left with quite unique yet universal music.

4. Where do you see yourselves in 5 years time?

Honestly who could say, nobody knows what is going to happen, we have goals and ambitions we want to achieve with this and I'm sure we will, however looking past the end of your nose in this industry is a bit narcissistic so we tend to only focus on the journey and enjoy what we are blessed to be able to do.

5. What's next for Pylo?

We are finishing up the recording of our debut album. That is our current venture and we hope to have that out early next year along with a few tours and festivals.

Big thanks to Pylo for the interview.
