Track of the Week #24 (&25) - Jim Valentine - Hello

As we were unable to get any posts up last weekend, technically this should be our 25th 'Track of the Week' and technically it is as Jim Valentine's brilliant new explosion of gritty garage rock n'roll, 'Hello', is more than equipped to take the title for two weeks running.

Opening with a sense of reality, as James John and his Miles Kane, Alex Turner-esque vocals utter the words "Hello summer, hello rain" before the Glaswegians re-define the phrase 'rock n'roll' with a powerful eruption of technically engineered noise that will be music to the ears of all patiently waiting for British guitar music to make a return to it's once lofty heights of the 90's and early noughties. Jim Valentine and their grease ridden locks are becoming a hit with many following the release of their debut, 'Make You Mine' that has even seen the NME acknowledge of their existence. 'Hello' drifts off into a tranquil finish as John and co bring to a close another powerful statement of intent.

All we will say is... Mr. Alex Turner, watch your back.
