This weeks 'Track of the Week' is the new release by the supporters of Jamie T on his recent 'Carry on the Grudge' tour, Slaves.
The Tunbridge Wells duo burst on to the scene early last year with a defining sound; garage punk embellished by percussive angst and satire filled lyrics; new release 'The Hunter' follows this trend.
Pure grit is embodied in the opening guitar riff and is backed by lyrics that resemble the ramblings of conspiracy wielding friend at a house party “The icecaps are melting... will experts look stupid and invert the facts.” An unusual combination is a winning one and when the drums kick in following the first verse you are given a true feeling of what the band are all about. Their music is quirky, angst driven and feels like taking a ride inside your gran's old washing machine. Expect big things from this pair.
