This weeks 'Track of the Week' is 'Plastic People' by Yak.
London trio Yak emerged late last year with their debut song 'Plastic People' and have now gathered, rather quickly, a reputation as one of the most exciting young bands coming out of the south of England. The track is barn storming, feather ruffling, in your face and direct, and as the drum kick introduces an electrifying guitar riff similar to something you might here from Franz Ferdinand you begin to understand why the band have warranted so much hype. This song engraves a hollow deep into your mind and as a result you can only sit back and exclaim “Holy Shit!” and all of this is adorned further by gripping vocal work and a taut, terse and brilliant chorus.
