We caught up with Breeze this week. Habitated in the indie hub that is Birmingham, they're hoping to emulate the success of fellow brummies; Peace, Swim Deep and Jaws. The three piece know it'll be a tough ride in doing so, but they're yet to hit the brakes and the future is looking rather bright with things only set to get brighter. Here's what they had to say.
1. Who are Breeze?
Breeze is an indie pop band from Birmingham. We have Paul Baker - vocals / guitar, Josh Moseley - guitar and Jack Redfern - drums, started late into 2014.
2. Who are your biggest musical inspirations?
We have inspiration coming from all different genres. We feel like the cure and the smiths has had an impact on our music and bands like The Maccabees and Peace had a big influence in our early days trying to find our sound, which ended up sounding not a huge deal like either.
3. How would you describe your sound?
We find it difficult to describe our sound. It has an atmospheric vibe to it, mixed with bright and cheerful indie riffs and melodies. We still find out more to our sound as we continue to write more songs.
4. Where do you see yourselves in five years time?
In five years is a tricky question. We would hopefully be making music full time doing what we love every day. We would like to be touring, writing music as we go and playing as many festivals as we can.
5. What's next for Breeze?
We have just played Dot to Dot Festival, and have been shortlisted for Y Not Festival and Truck Fest. We would love to be playing these in the near future. We are recording and releasing our first EP before the end of this year.
6. Where can hear more from/about you?
