1. Clay

Indie-tropica quartet Clay are a band to keep your eye on, following the succes of debut track 'Sun Dance', the future is looking blindingly bright for the Leeds based four-piece. Appearing at Live at Leeds earlier in the year, expect to see their name cropping up on festival bills more and more in the near future. A perfect band to enjoy in the summer sun, their synth fuelled sounds will sure be flooding your ears soon.

2. RAT BOY

Essex lad RAT BOY is currently in the process of ripping the industry a 'new one', the Jamie T-esque solo artist has just been confirmed as main support as The 1975 tour the UK later this year, and as well as signing to Parlophone Records, he's all set for a festival-filled summer. Appearing at Reading and Leeds next month, RAT BOY is all set to bring his live carnage to the massess. Qouted recently as saying that there's usually an "ambulance at every gig", make sure you take it carefully.

3. Lusts

Shoegaze synth-pop duo Lusts have laid the foundations over the last few months for what looks set to be a showstopping career. Compiled by brothers Andy and James Stone, the pair have become marvellous orchestras of indie-synth. Tracks such as 'Temptation' and 'Mouthwash' have earned the band coverted praise from the likes of the NME to the BBC, and with tour dates now in the diary for the end of the year, we'd advise to catch them whilst you can.

4. Hooton Tennis Club

Liverpool quartet Hooton Tennis Club are a band that look all set for the big time, fresh from appearing at Glastonbury, the Cribs-esque four piece are now ready to tour Europe and the UK for the remainder of the year. Showcasing the likes of biggest hit, 'Kathleen Sat On The Arm Of Her Favourite Chair' to more and more soon-to-be new members of their ever establishing club. With their debut album 'Highest Point In Cliff Town' set to be released on the 28th August, don't expect this to be the last you hear from this band.

5. Coves

Not breakthrough as such, but a band of which deserve far more credit than they've earned to date. Following the release of their debut album 'Soft Friday' back in 2014, things have been a bit calm for the pair from Leamington Spa. Though with new EP 'Spectrum' being unveiled back in April and the current process of recording taking place, expect the Coves hype to return and in an ever greater form. The duo offer a sense of creativity within their sound, they present no clear and defining influence, which makes them so intriguing to listen to. Get on them before they finally explode.
