For all Arcade Fire nuts like myself, right now is a very very good time. Yesterday the Canadian outfit unveiled 'The Reflektor Tapes' is to be released worldwide on the 24th September.
Shot by Khalil Joseph, 'The Reflektor Tapes' is a feature film of clips from the bands recent worldwide 'Reflektor tour'. An insight into the glittering life of Win Butler and co, it is sure to be a huge hit with Arcade Fire fans across the globe once it hits cinemas this September. It is not yet clear which cinemas will be screening the film, but there has been some indication that hard copies (DVD's & Blu-Ray's) may become available for those who might not get to see it. An eight minute video was published on the bands official YouTube feed yesterday, seemingly incorparting the music video for 'Porno' with the trailer for 'The Reflektor Tapes'. Featuring scenes of Haiti, along with various clips of tour dates, the trailer gave us a taster of what to expect. Ending with a spine-tingling 'Rebellion (Lies)' rendition, in which Will Butler smashes his head through the skin of a drum, it's clear we're in for a treat.
But... there's something to be even more excited about. Today, official Arcade Fire fan page 'Arcade Fire tube' shared the news of 'The Reflektor Tapes' featuring new and unheard material from the band. Could a new era of Arcade Fire be on the horizon yet again? Fingers crossed! Keep checking www.thereflektortapes.com for more information.
