Introducing... Roman Scott

We chatted with Brighton based electronic, hip-hop, folk and blues singer/songwriter Roman Scott this week. Introducing... Roman Scott.

1. Who is Roman Scott?

A Brighton based producer, beatboxer and singer/songwriter.

2. How would you describe your sound?

Well... In short it's electronic, hip-hop, folk, blues, BUT there's techniques that have influenced me from all sorts of music and which I hate to narrow down to just single and particular genres so I just call it 'Halfway'.

3. Who are your biggest musical influences and inspirations?

D'Angelo is my idol. Then the likes of Chet Faker, Flako/Ding Gerner, 123MRK, Citizen Cope, Jon Cleary, Fat Freddie's, Gabriel Garzon, Jordan Rakei and many more. Ha...

4. You've so far had air play from the likes of BBC Radio 6 music and BBC Sussex, how does

it feel to hear your own music on the radio?

It was really exciting getting that but I've only ever really heard it on catch up, not live radio as such yet so when that happens that's when I'll have the full effect I think.

5. Where do you see yourselves in five years time?

With a few more EPs, a couple of albums and hopefully a few tours.

6. What's next for Roman Scott?

Record the next EP, perform this one live and try to move to London!

7. Where can we find out/hear more from you?
