If you’ve ever been to the Tramlines Festival, you’ll no doubt already be familiar with the almighty Hey Sholay, but if not, I caught up with them this week to find out more. Introducing... Hey Sholay.
1. Who are Hey Sholay?
Hey Sholay are four tired-eyed, leather-skinned, sarcastic, suicidal, pessimistic, troubled individuals, darting around the country.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Hey sholay's sound comes from the names meaning; "tiny embers/flames of the sun”.
3. Who are your biggest musical influences and inspirations?
Andy Warhol.
4. You’ve just released your brand new single “Eyes for Me”, what is the story behind it?
It's about the plastic scary sides of a new relationships, the paranoia, the karaoke bars, the higher times and the lows.
5. What is next for Hey Sholay? Another EP? Album number 2?
The plan is to keep releasing tracks for free until our bank accounts are knackered, a physical release is being prepared in France as we type.
6. If your music was a drink, what drink would it be?
Lambrini.
