Baby Strange - Interviewed

I chatted with Baby Strange this week. Following the release of new single 'California Sun', the hype for this Glaswegian three-piece has only grown stronger and with a tour to come in the autumn, we strongly suggest catching them whilst you can.

1. Who are Baby Strange?

A band from Glasgow.

2. For those who are yet to listen to yourselves, how would you describe your sound?

Loud, energetic & sharp.

3. You're hitting the road in October, are you looking forward to it?

We can't wait! We really enjoy touring.

4. Where's your favourite place to play?

We really like playing in Birmingham. We've always had a great reaction down there, looking forward to the gig at Sunflower Lounge in October.

5. Where do you see yourselves in five years time?

Selling bucket hats at a festival somewhere.

6. Who are your biggest influences and inspirations?

Sounds a little cheesy but I feel inspired by a lot of my friends here in Glasgow, if it's running a record label, making jewellery or taking great photos. They're all up to something and I love being in that creative environment.

7. You recently released your new single 'California Sun', how has the response been so far?

The response has been good. That song shows a slightly different side to us so I wasn't sure how people would react but it's been positive so far.

8. Who are you listening to at the moment?

Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Television & Bad Breeding.

9. What's next for Baby Strange?

More gigs, new single and a lot of hard work.

10. Where can we hear/find out more from you?

On Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud or Instagram. Take your pick, but if I was you, I'd just come to a gig.
