Introducing... Arbes

I spoke with Melbourne trio Arbes this week following the release of their new track, 'Beach Side'. The Tame Impala inspired three-piece look set for a big future, with their dreamy psychedelic pop already sending waves over the UK's direction. Introducing... Arbes.

1. Who are Arbes?

Arbes are three best friends (Anita, Jess and Sam) who love each other dearly.

2. How would you describe your sound?

We have no idea...

3. You've recently unveiled your new track 'Beach Side', tell us a little about it?

It started out being a really shy keyboard focused track and then it turned into this aggressive/obnoxious track, but it still retains some dreamy qualities.

4. Who are your biggest influences and inspirations?

Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kaiyote, St. Vincent; they are all my heroes because they're crazy ladies of immense passion/drive/uniqueness. We all love Interpol, Tame Impala and Grizzly Bear also. Oh and PRINCE cos he changed the world.

5. Where do you see yourselves in five years time?

Hopefully touring somewhere after releasing an album that polarises critics.

6. What's next for Arbes?

Sam's just gone off to Europe, so waiting for him to get back and play some shows! Then we're psyched to start writing bigger and better songs, that's all we can do.

7. Where can we find out/hear more from you?

If you're in Melbourne come along to some shows in October or on the interwebs, pretty much just check out facebook.com/arbesmusic or twitter.com/arbesmusic.
