I chatted with Witney based quartet The Haze earlier this week. The Rolling Stones and Sex Pistols inspired four-piece have big ambitions, and whose to blame them? Introducing... The Haze.
1. Who are The Haze?
The Haze are a group of mates who all share the same ideas and tastes in music. We want to change the face of popular music by bringing back guitar music into the charts. We are a hardworking rock quartet with good drive and big ambitions.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Our sound is very much based around driving guitars with powerful rock and roll riffs. We aren't quite sure how to describe our sound but I think we have one that can please a lot of different people with different tastes. We think it's for each individual to make up their own mind on it.
3. What's the aim?
The aim is to sell as many records as possible all over the globe. We want to play all over in packed out venues too. This is what we want to do for the rest of our lives. We 're not very good at much else.
4. Who are your biggest influences and inspirations?
The Rolling Stones, The Stone Roses, The Beatles, The Who and Sex Pistols.
5. Where do you see yourselves in five years time?
We see ourselves playing bigger and better places with bigger and better songs. We aren't making checkpoints like it doesn't matter if we aren't at this stage in 5 years. It's just where we'd like to be. Making a living out of it would be a good step!
6. What's next for The Haze?
We are just going to keep doing what we are doing. Playing lots of gigs and writing lots of songs. Hopefully we might draw some attention from a label... Who knows?
7. Where can find out/hear more from you?
Facebook, Soundcloud and Twitter. Hopefully 'Rolling Stone' magazine soon too! Haha.
