I chatted with 'Pyscho grung shop pop' quartet Egyptian Blue last week. The four-piece released their new single 'Do You're Think You're Worth Your Soul?' via Soundcloud on the 25th August and are set to play the Sebright Arms in London later this month. Introducing... Egyptian Blue.
1. Who are Egyptian Blue?
We are four lads moping through time and space trying to find that sound.
2. How would you describe your sound?
Psycho grunge shop pop.
3. Who are your biggest musical influences and inspirations?
It's different for all of us but Radiohead are definitely a strong inspiration. Others would be Primal Scream, Can, Fela Kuti and of course Jim Reeves.
4. What's the aim?
The aim is to find that sound.
5. Where do you see yourselves in five years time?
It's hard to think about that at the moment really we just want to make music really.
6. What's next for Egyptian Blue?
We've got some new songs on the way and a music video is coming soon!
7. Where can find out/hear more from you?
