I spoke with KYKO this week, a London based solo artist who since the relase of his debut EP 'Animals' has earned himself coverage from the likes of BBC Introducing and Xfm. Introducing... KYKO.

Who is KYKO?
My name's Scott - I'm 19 years of age, from South London and really like music... I write, sing, and produce songs, then put them online and perform them to people.
How would you describe your sound?
It's sort of turning out to be a mash of all the stuff I'm into - new, old, good, bad, cool and cheesy. It's been referred to as 'Topical Indie Pop', which I think is fair at the moment so I'll go with that.
You recently released your debut EP, 'Animals', how has the response been so far?
Yeah, seems to be going down really well! Its amazing to see people all over the world connecting with these four tunes I made in my bedroom, the internet is a cool place... Just looking forward to putting more music out now!
Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Still doing music for sure. Would love to be playing outside of the UK and visting new countries / places - that's one of my biggest goals! I'll just take things as they come at the moment...
Who are your biggest musical influences and inspirations?
Like everyone I'm constantly going through new musical obsessions so I take inspiration from a load of new stuff - if it makes me feel good I'm into it. To put out some names I'd go with Paul Simon and Bon Iver as my main musical inspirations!
What's next for KYKO?
Tunes! I've been back in the studio working on new music since the EP dropped in July and will be putting out a new single in October / November. I can't wait to share what I've been working on! Also buzzed to squeeze in some more gigs before the end of the year.
Where can we find out/hear more from you?
The internet! Keep an eye out on the Facebook / Twitter / Soundcloud for the next bit of new music...
