Who is Jack Conman?
Contrary to popular belief, I'm not a con artist, just a musical one. I'm a singer/songwriter who slaps his guitar when he plays.
How would you describe your sound?
I'd say most of my stuff is quite rhythmical and brooding, my aim isn't to make people cry by listening to my music, more to make people bob their heads or sway from side to side whilst thinking about how they should stop holding on to things that make them unhappy. So I'd say it's neither happy or sad, just quite reflective.
You've recently released your first single, 'Misty Central', tell us a little about it?
The songs about being uncertain about something, in this case, it's about being uncertain about a relationship, which is a bit cliche, I know. But it's also in a general sense; like being uncertain about your future or what you want to do with your life and questioning if the people in your life are worth holding onto.
You've also already been recognised by the likes of Huw Stephens and BBC Introducing, how does this feel?
Quite surreal really, it's quite amazing I've been recognised amongst all the great music that's out there at the moment. Cheers Huw!
What's the aim?
Just to keep progressing, getting my music in front of more people, arranging more tours, making more friends through music, discovering more music, recording more songs, and ultimately just working hard and getting a bigger fanbase and enjoying it - which is the main thing.
What's next for Jack Conman?
The Coffeehouse Session tour in January is what's next! The details will be on my website at jackconman.co.uk for the dates/venues. After that, hopefully a European tour!
